Begone Dull Care
This is my first blog post on the 6x1 Variation on the One Minuet Page. My assignment for the blog this week was to watch and respond to the 1949 animation Begone Dull Care. I can't really put my finger on this animation, it is definitely not the typical animation i am used to from Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks. It seem to be a truly masterful piece of art, from being hand painted and other techniques that are seen in typical works from Stan Brakhage. My first impression of it was honestly form the shock factor of the soundtrack being very boisterous and just in general zany. Honestly that is what mostly stood out to me was the soundtrack and its beautiful combination with the animation. The jazz style music that is orchestrated for this film truly allowed me to enjoy this animation. If you would like to view the film I posted the film along with my post and I hope you enjoy.
